The Effect Of Vero Cells on Preimplantation Mouse Embryo in Cultur Medium

  SUMMARY To study the effect of vero cells on preimplantation mouse embryos two groups of experiment were carried out. In experiment 1, pronuclear stage mouse embryos were co-cultured with Vero cells in RPMI medium and were examined under microscope for 4 days with 24h interval. The results showed co-cultured group developed better compared to control (87% to 80%, P<0.05) although, the rate of development to blastocyst was relatively similar (8% to 7%).In experiment 2 two-cell mouse embryos were co-cultured with Vero cells. 72h. after cultivation more co-cultured embryos developed to expanded blastocysts and moroulae (80% to 75%, P<0.05) in addition, more embryos in co-cultured group hatched (48% to 27%, P<0.001). We conclude that although the Vero cell is able to over come the two-cell block but supports the embryos which passed this block invivo.
